Canterbury Indian Tamil Association
The Canterbury Indian Tamil Association (CITA) is a non-profit community organisation that aims to promote and preserve Tamil culture and heritage among the Indian Tamil community in the Canterbury region of New Zealand. The association is run by volunteers who organise various cultural and social events throughout the year, such as Tamil festivals, cultural performances, sports activities, health awareness projects and educational programs for children and youth.

About Our Community
The Canterbury Tamil Association is a community organization that aims to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the Tamil people. The community is made up of individuals and families with roots in Tamil Nadu, Singapore , Malaysia and Sri Lanka. The association fosters community among members and promotes cultural understanding through events showcasing Tamil language, music, dance, art, and cuisine. The organization provides language classes, support for settlement and integration, and assistance to those in need. Additionally, the association raises awareness of issues affecting the Tamil community and advocates for social justice and human rights. The Canterbury Tamil Association serves as a hub for the Tamil community and a bridge between the Tamil community and the wider community in New Zealand.
